On behalf of the Office of the Tax-Ombudsman, we welcome you to this website.
The real spirit of establishing the Office of the Tax-Ombudsman is to ensure transparency and accountability in the Tax Administration and to provide redress to the tax–payers from harassment due to maladministration, abuse of power, negligence, incompetence, etc, of the Tax officials and thus creating tax-friendly environment.
Any aggrieved person can easily lodge a complaint with the Tax-Ombudsman without any fee against the maladministration done by the functionaries of the National Board of the Revenue (NBR) administering tax-laws. The complainants can give evidence and submit statements personally or through a legal representative.
The Tax-Ombudsman conducts a free, fair and impartial investigation of the complaints and tries to facilitate a fair and judicious settlement and disposal of the complaints within the stipulated time.
The respected tax-payers are requested to avail the service and support provided by the Office of the Tax-Ombudsman in seeking redress from tax related maladministration and harassment.
The user of the website can easily have access to the information on all ongoing activities of this office. This site provides complaint form that can be downloaded and printed for lodging complaint. The complainant can keep him/her updated on the actions being taken with regard to the complaint. In addition, the procedural formalities for lodging a complaint and other relevant information relating to the office has been compiled and attached in this website.
